Keiser University's Associate of Science degree in Physical Therapy Assistant prepares students for employment as a skilled licensed health care worker under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. A Physical Therapy Assistant assists in the management of conditions such as arthritis, amputation, fractures, cerebrovascular accident (stroke), spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, wounds, developmental delays, cerebral palsy, cardiac and pulmonary pathology, sport injuries, work injuries and other types of injuries and/or pathologies.

This program is designed to train students to implement treatment programs as directed by a physical therapist; competently perform data collection skills necessary for a plan of care; effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with healthcare team members and patients; participate in patient education as directed by a physical therapist; and demonstrate a commitment to learning.
