Public Safety at Keiser University

Our Bachelor of Science degree in Public Safety combines public administration and management topics to focus on a range of public policy issues. The degree program can prepare you to step into roles as an administrator for fire departments, emergency medical service agencies, police and sheriff's departments, and other governmental bureaus.

Coursework in our Public Safety degree program focuses on budget development, grant writing, property management, administrative law, social policy and event response. The objective of our Bachelor of Science degree in Public Safety is to help you develop an understanding of public administration management so you can apply it to work in public safety departments and build skills in personnel management and public relations to help you supervise departments and work within a community. As a student in this program, you can also gain an understanding of intergovernmental relations and how government works on each level.

Upon earning your Bachelor of Science degree in Public Safety you can be prepared for a variety of career opportunities in fire safety, emergency medical services, police departments and government agencies.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that the job outlook for public safety professionals looks strong and will grow faster than average through 2018.
